Process

What decisions make up this process?

Those of you who are already selling products in the marketplace have, by now, gone through this process many times before. For those of you who may be new to having a private label product manufactured and filled for you, let's review this process.

You've decided to add some products to your line; do you want to target the lower, medium or higher price level of goods? This question must be answered first, because the answer will then relate to whether or not you choose upscale packaging or a more common look, as well as adding more expensive ingredients (thereby giving you a better feel or a more results oriented mixture), or keeping the price in a generic range.

Once that decision has been made, begin to look at the packaging possibilities by searching the internet for plastic bottle and other cosmetic container manufacturers. Two that we can recommend are: www.adcocontainer.com and www.bottlemate.com. After your packaging choices have been made, the containers may be labeled with a pressure sensitive label or decorated with a process known as "silk screening". Both of these processes require artwork to be approved before the work can commence. Sending a sample of the chosen container to your graphic artist will allow the process of designing a label go smoother because they will need certain measurements so that the artwork can be made to fit within a printer's guidelines.

You're probably not the first one wanting to sell a product that remedies a certain problem, so....REMEMBER: IF THERE IS A CERTAIN PRODUCT IN THE MARKETPLACE CURRENTLY THAT YOU FEEL YOU'D LIKE TO HAVE - LET US KNOW. With subtle changes (such as color and/or fragrance) our Research and Development Department may be able to come up with a product that is very similar OR we may be able to make improvements to the sample! Our ability to do custom product duplication is one of our company's strongest assets.

This information is not going to be followed to the letter in every single case; it's going to take your creativity and investigative nature to create a product line for your own satisfaction first. If you can do that, a steady stream of customers will be your reward!
